Note for:   Ann Pocklington,   4 MAY 1813 - 28 NOV 1851         Index

Burial:
     Date:   3 DEC 1851
Place:   St. Marys Church, Sutterton, Lincs.

Individual Note:

Ann was in love with her first cousin before she married Charles Fairfax Johnson. The family did not approve and to break them up, he was sent away to sea. He gave (or sent) her a cameo pin to show his love for her. (The cameo is in the family's possession)

Apparently, Ann's husband, Charles Fairfax Johnson, drank and played the horses, so Ann and her two children went to live with Ann's father, Roger Pocklington, at Sutterton Grange, Sutterton. They appear on 1851 census with Roger.
