Individual Note:
John purchased property in Little Clacton (Clacktoune) in 1567 = 1 messuage, 16 acres of arable land and 1 acre of woodland. (One, William Pretyman, a relative of Agnes's first husband Thomas, acquired access to the estate Cokkys in Little Clacton in 1568. (called Cokks in 1490) with 1 messuage, 40 acres of arable land , 20 acres of meadow, 100 acres of pasture and 8 acres of woodland. It is possible Agnes lived there with her first husband, and perhaps the second (who owned property himself - Little Clacton) may have taken over the tenancy after their marriage. This was one of the Banning estates until 1639 then being sold in 1719 to be divided amongst heirs. His will dated 23rd March 1588, proved 10th September 1595 - tenancy left on messuage Cockes to his son Philip - also mentioned, wife Agnes and John Bayning (wife's brother). Court case - 25th February 1609 - involved his son Philip Stubbes and Thomas Bayning, yeoman of Little Clacton......)
