Robert Raven - great grandson of John Raven.
(The Raven family had been assiciated with Needham and Creting St. Mary since circa 1277 - owning property in Needham circa 1251 - were amongst the richest clothiers in Needham. One, Thomas Raven, contributed to the building of Needham Chapel and in the south porch his initial can be seen. Needham flourished in the cloth trade. )

In the 1891 census - Alice and her brother, Joseph were living with their maternal Grandparents, Frederick and Frances Lawrence. The family was living in Whitgift in the rural district of Goole. Her Uncle George William Lawrence and his family were living a few houses away. It has not yet been discovered what had happened to Alice's sister and parents.

It appears that Alice Lee and her brother Joseph were not living with their parents or sister Emma in 1891. An Emma Lee found, born March 1879 died September 1882 aged 4 years in the Civil Registration Index in Goole. These dates tie in with the ages for Emma Lee in the census of 1881.
