     Youngerst daughter of Joseph Robbins Esq., of Ballyduff, Kilkenny .
Her mother was Margaret Piers, daughter of Sir Henry Piers. Bart. of Tristernagh, W. Meath. and granddaughter of Sir. William Piers and the Hon. Honora F. FitzMaurice, who was the eldest sister of the First Earl of Kerry.

Her eldest sister Jane married Thomas Barns Esq. Barrister at law, their son being Thomas Barns Esq. of Dunover, Co Meath

John Pratt Winter became a Captain of the 17th Regt of Light Dragoons, now the 17th Lancers. He never married. He was killed in action aged 26 years - He died when leading the second squadron of his Regt in the heroic but disastrous charge of the light brigade on the Russian Army at Balaklava before Sebastopol in the Crimea.
