Merelina Letitia Mary Bosanquet
Merelina and husband Theodore were significant benefactors to village life.
In 1894 Bradworthy village acquired six street lights and Merelina gave another.
In 1895 the Cottage Garden Society formed and the first show was held at West Down.
The present church organ was gifted/donated by Merelina.
The cricketing 'googly' invented by Bernard James Tindal Bosanquet, a cousin of the West Down Bosanquetes, was practised if not invested at West Down using tennis balls on the front lawn.
